Flick speed isolates a specific duel scenario, an opponent appears suddenly at close range or off an unexpected angle, and the engagement is decided by whoever detects and commits first. This differs from sustained aim precision, which assumes a longer engagement window, and from tracking, which assumes continuous target visibility. Flick speed is the shortest-fuse mechanical skill the combine measures.
Weapons and playstyles built around one-shot or near-instant kills, sniper duels, headshot pistols, close-range peeks, depend on flick speed more directly than sustained-fire weapons, where tracking and aim precision carry more of the engagement.
Flick speed does not run outside the FPS genre. General and MOBA combines substitute the memory module in this slot, reflecting the fact that split-second target-appearance duels are a genre-specific mechanical demand rather than a universal cognitive one.
Flick speed and tracking are different motor patterns. Aim trainer scenarios built around single committed flicks to appearing targets, rather than following continuous motion, transfer directly to this specific dimension.
Training against targets that stay visible indefinitely does not build the urgency this dimension rewards. Drills with a hard visibility deadline, matching the module's 200ms window, force the same detect-commit pattern.
Flick speed favours a sensitivity that covers meaningful screen distance in one committed motion. Sensitivity optimised for fine tracking corrections can slow flick execution even when raw reaction time is fast.
