It arrives as crowd noise on stream, an unexpected flash grenade, a chat ping at the wrong moment, or the compounding pressure of a close scoreline. Composure is the dimension that predicts whether performance holds through those moments or degrades without the player noticing the drop in real time.
Because the score is a ratio rather than a raw number, it isolates the interference effect specifically. A player with a slow baseline but a small delta and a player with a fast baseline but a large delta can land at different composure percentiles even if their distraction-phase numbers look similar on the surface, the retention pattern is what the score captures.
Roles that operate under sustained visual and auditory noise, close-quarters engagements, team fights with multiple simultaneous threats, high-stakes elimination rounds, depend more heavily on this dimension than roles with quieter decision windows.
Add crowd audio, a busy stream overlay, or a distracting second screen during practice reps. Clean-room practice does not train the retention delta this dimension measures, only distraction-condition practice does.
If your clean-condition accuracy is already weak, address that with basic drilling first. Composure specifically measures what happens once a solid baseline meets interference, training it before the baseline exists wastes reps.
A consistent physical or mental cue before high-pressure moments, a breath, a fixed callout, a brief pause, gives the nervous system a stable anchor point before interference hits, reducing the size of the performance delta.
