description: First NeuroRank top-20 weekly recap. Five Strategists hold a quarter of the board, the ceiling sits at 82, and the cognitive meta is being defined right now.
This is the first weekly recap from the NeuroRank top 20, a snapshot of where the combine stood at close on April 17. Every Friday from here on, we pull the live leaderboard, compare it to the previous week, and surface the narrative threads that matter: new entries, big climbers, archetype shifts, and cognitive milestones. Think of it as the week-over-week tape study for the neural profile game.
Since there's no prior snapshot to diff against, this first recap is a baseline. But the current board already tells a clear story.
The Strategist era
Five of the twenty players in the top 20 this week carry the same archetype: The Strategist. That's 25% of the board, more than any other classification, and nearly double the next-closest groups (The Anchor and The Balanced Operator, tied at three each). The Strategist archetype is defined by elite decision quality and working memory, and it's winning the top of this leaderboard on accuracy and read-speed rather than raw mechanical ceiling.
Full archetype breakdown of the current top 20:
- The Strategist: 5
- The Anchor: 3
- The Balanced Operator: 3
- The Support: 2
- The Flex: 2
- The AWPer: 2
- The Fragger, The Rifler, The Clutch Reactor: 1 each
If you're grinding to crack the board and your profile leans into Decision Quality or Working Memory, the data says you're playing the right meta.
82 is the ceiling, the 85-club is empty
The current #1 overall is sitting at 82. Nobody in the top 20 has crossed 85, and nobody is anywhere near 90. That's a real scoreboard gap. It means the first player to post above the 80th percentile across all six dimensions, or to stack two elite dims over 95 and bring their weakest dim above 70, is going to open serious daylight at the top.
What's interesting is that the player currently at #1 has two dimension scores at 95 and 99, which is close to the ceiling of the norm tables, but a Consistency score of 60 is suppressing their overall. In other words, the person who dethrones them probably won't be faster or sharper. They'll just be steadier.
Genre distribution
Thirteen of the top 20 profiles were built on the general-genre combine, with four MOBA runs and three FPS runs rounding out the board. General-genre runs test the full cognitive battery (reaction, aim, tracking, memory, composure, tilt), and it's clearly the path that's surfacing the widest talent pool right now. If you're an FPS or MOBA specialist who's never tried the general combine, it's worth a sitting. It may move your public ranking more than another run in your home genre.
What to watch
Three things going into next week:
- Does anyone break 83? The top of the board has been capped at 82 for a minute. A single 80+ Consistency run from someone already elite in Decision Quality could flip the #1 slot in one session.
- Can a non-Strategist crack the top 5? With five Strategists already in the top 20 and three of them landing in the upper half of the board, the archetype is drifting toward dominance. Fraggers, Duelists, and AWPers, this is your window to push back.
- FPS and MOBA representation. Only seven of the top 20 came from genre-specific runs. A strong FPS or MOBA week could reshape the board quickly, because the specialized modules (flicker, sequencing) reward different cognitive profiles than the general battery.
We'll be back next Friday with the first real week-over-week diff: who climbed, who fell out, and whether the Strategist era holds. If you want to be part of next week's recap, the combine is open. Run the six modules, post a profile, and show up on the board.
